Fighting Hunger One Bowl at a Time
Tartine was proud to participate in the third annual Empty Bowls by the Lake on October 4, 2014. Our locally sourced butternut squash soup was served to guests at the event at Bleser Park in Avon Lake.
Local potters, crafters, educators, students and volunteers created and donated handcrafted bowls and local restaurants donated soup and bread to serve. In exchange for a cash donation, guests were asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world.
This event was part of the Empty Bowls Project, an international grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger. The mission is to create positive and lasting change through the arts, education, and projects that build community.
Delicious soup, great cause. Stop in to Tartine and warm up with our butternut squash soup goodness!
