Dupont Brewery is a brewery in Tourpes, in western Hainaut, Belgium. Founded in 1950, it is on a working farm which dates back to 1759 and has significant brewing history. In the 1990s, a bread bakery and cheese-making facility were added.
The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle. Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in their farm-brewery, during the winter time. Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel. During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Historically, their best-selling beer was the Moinette Blonde. However, the popularization of the Saison Dupont by their American importer in the 1980s led to great international popularity for this beer, which provides a link to the historic farmhouse ales of the region.
Repeatedly touted as the Saison by which all Saisons are measured, you can stop by year round and have yourself one of these beauties.
